Cheyanna

To the sports women, I’d say keep being great and motivational because there are young females watching you like myself and it feels great to have some women of your talents passing on knowledge to us, directly or indirectly!

K: Tell us a story. Have you had an experience that’s defined you or made you stronger?

C: I’ve had multiple occasions and experiences that has made me stronger because I must learn from everything I do, make that be a failure or mistake...However I will definitely say that I always used to feel as though I am one of the weaker players on my football and badminton team especially playing for the national team and it allowed to work harder each time. Up to this date I am still still working and a lot had improved.

K: What is one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?

C: I’d tell my younger self right now hard work and dedication goes a very long way! Once you are willing to do it, work for it and always stay true to yourself and God is always on your side.

K: What does being a woman mean to you?

C: Being a woman means strength. I feel as though women have to show how strong we are in everything we do. This allows us to be the best we can be.

K: Who is one woman that inspires you? What would you say to her if she were here now?

C: I look up to my grandmother. She definitely shows strength and encourages me every time to be better.

Sports related, I love the badminton players PV Sindhu (India) and Carolina Marin (Spain)... every time they fail they come back stronger and for football... I love to see Alisha Lehmann (Everton Women FC) her drive and skills of the game keeps me motivated.

I’d thank my grandmother for everything that she has done. One of the best things is that she brought my mom into this world and I cannot thank her enough for that.

To the sports women, I’d say keep being great and motivational because there are young females watching you like myself and it feels great to have some women of your talents passing on knowledge to us, directly or indirectly!
